FcMmabatho star: 'I AM JUST STICKING TO MY STRENGTHS.
Boasting electrifying speed and tricky left foot, Mokgosi Thabo otherwise known as “Bozati” is a Soweto born attacking midfielder. He joined FcMmabatho in early 2017 whilst they were still campaigning at the SAFA Emfuleni Local football association league. Prior to moving to Vanderbijlpark to further his studies, he played for Mswenk FC and Senawane Gunners FC respectively.
The 23-year-old said he saw the SAFA Sedibeng SAB League as an opportunity for him to improve. Coach (Tumelo Thebe) said it’s a chance for me to show what I have, to showcase my talent because I know I can be better.
This season feels like it will be a better one for me, especially after he put a Man-of-the Match performance against Luso Africa F.C, scoring the equalizer and assisting with another goal. “I know a lot of guys from FcMmabatho expect a lot from me this season and but I don’t want to put myself under pressure.
Thabo, who is nicknamed “Bozati” said that he expects FcMmabatho to compete for ABC Motsepe promotion this season. I know it’s a tough ask to the team-mates but it can be done. Last season, everyone is expected us to fight relegation as a new team in the league but we managed to survive the first season with ease and that is motivation enough that we can compete for the top 4 finish.

Vanderbijlpark- FcMmabatho newest signing Khwezilenkosi Fanelesibonge Myeni has revealed his gratitude to coach Tumelo Thebe for the trust and advice he gave him. Khwezilenkosi Myeni was signed by FcMmabatho at the beginning of January 2018 under coach Tumelo Thebe and has since gone from strength to strength
Myeni knowns precisely how much of an honour that is, having learned from Tumelo during his first year in the club. The time I was being signed, Tumelo thoroughly explained to me what it means to be a Mmabatho player,” said Khwezilenkosi Myeni. “He said I must use wisely the advantages of being FcMmabatho player because it could open the door for me to play USSA football and receive recognition from professional teams.
Khwezilenkosi Myeni was born in the KZN but spotted by the FcMmabatho Technical staff while playing for Rosina Sedibane Sport School during a winter games held at NWU Vaal campus in 2017.
Although FcMmabatho could only finish 10th last season in the SAFA Sedibeng SAB league, that was inspirational performance for a club in its on the maiden season. FcMmabatho played 30 games, winning 10, drawing 6 and losing 14. Coach Tumelo Thebe believes that they could have done better but this is no reason pressing panic buttons ahead of their new season.
“if you see what sort of football we’ve produced over last season then it is very exciting. It was just a lot of small errors in our defensive play that cost us. We definitely turned up in terms of our attacking play, but defensive errors at crucial times cost us. “but I don’t think we need to go too deeply into it, they were silly errors and we lacked concentration. Then at some stage the emotions get to you. But our defensive play was not adequate level in most games. So, this season we must just be patient and not get erratic,” said Chairman
FcMmabatho was the 3rd highest scoring team in the SAFA Sedibeng SAB league for 2017/2018 season, with 63 goals scored and 67 conceded. It showed that FcMmabatho preferred an open attacking game but they will need to learn how to shut the back door.
The chairman believes that the players need time to adapt to the high intensity of SAFA 4th Division league and that the 2018/2019 season will be much better.
Sedibeng- FcMmabatho technical manager Mojalefa Mathebula is proud of the players FcMmabatho has placed with NWU VAAL F.C since 2015. After winning promotion into SAFA Sedibeng SAB league, FcMmabatho let go of Captain Modise Mokhanedi to join NWU VAAL F.C. although it was a tough decision by the technical team to allow the captain of the ship to join the rivalry, they believed that it was in the best interest of the player.
Modise Mokhanedi featured in most of NWU VAAL F.C. games during the 2017/2018 SAFA Sedibeng SAB league. Since then, FcMmabatho has placed Kavendree Makhene and, Itumeleng Khiba in July 2018. Both players have represented the NWU Vaal F.C in preseason friendlies and have fitted well in their new home.
“we are happy that we managed to place two more players with NWU VAAL F.C this season and we are looking forward to more of our players graduating from the program into NWU VAAL F.C,” said Mathebula. The main reason when the club was formed spoke to the provision of opportunity to football players who might have been overlooked or were not yet ready to play for the local university team.
Mathebula is optimistic that FcMmabatho will keep placing talented players with NWU VAAL F.C and in the future some these players will be offered professional contracts once their studies at NWU VAAL campus has been completed.
